LIKE WOW!
Lulu, (Yunbeai LikeNow LikeWow) lived up to her name winning BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW at the Perth Royal Show under general specials judge Luis Fernando Ribas Silva from Brasil. Beautifully handled by Rachel at 11 years old at her first major show. Rachel excited, mother and grandmother simply bursting with pride!

PERTH ROYAL REPORT 2008
The Yunbeai gang had a great time at the Royal Show this year. The Royal is our biggest and most prestigious show of the year and was judged this year by Mrs. Stalhandske of Sweden.
Dog CC and BOB went to Cash, Ch. Yunbeai Never Say Never with Reserve CC to Piper Ch. Yunbeai Im In Style, ably handled by Rachel. Bitch CC and RUBOB was Lily, Ch. Yunbeai Always True, handled by Lucas Finister (thank you Lucas!) and reserve CC to Yunbeai LikeNow LikeWow, again handled by Rachel.
After 8 class wins and that lovely success we really didn’t think our day could get any better – but it did. From a fabulous entry of marvellous dogs Cash was awarded BEST GUNDOG and will be the first cocker to be in the running for Best in Show for many many years. Then Rachel, handling at her first big show, did a wonderful job with Lulu and was awarded BEST JUNIOR GUNDOG. Afterwards Rachel and Lulu had a slight disagreement as to who won the ribbon! “Proper” show photos will follow soon.

Thanks to all who helped on the day including Lucas, Jo Chivers (whose lovely Labrador was Runner Up in Group), and Kathy and Anne Phillips.

AUGUST
In August, the Pepsi/Fern babies made their show debuts. Peter, George, Nancy and Tickles (blame the children for the names!) all showed great promise and we look forward to some fun showing them later in the year. Here they are left to right Peter (Yunbeai Im The One), George (Yunbeai Im Magic Too), Nancy (Yunbeai Its All About Me), and Tickles (Yunbeai Im All Magic).

Watery weekend
Just to show they are not just glamour machines, Piper, Pepsi, Misty and Silver had some fun in the paddock and the dam on the weekend. The girls definitely preferred the water while the boys thought jumping was the go!

Bronny a Star!
Fabulous little Bronny (Ch. Yunbeai Magics In Style) has competed in her first obedience trials. In Australia almost all trials are open to dogs of all breeds including non-pure bred dogs, so there is some very stiff competition from border collies, retrievers, kelpies etc. Bronny however showed them all how it is done with scores of 99/100, 91/100 and 93/100 at her first three trials in Community Companion Dog Class. All three scores were the high scores giving her First place in each event. Congratulations to Kathy Phillips, her owner and handler.

Buster Leaves
A sad day for us on May 3 as we bid farewell to Buster who has gone to his new show home with Sue Hobcraft after such a good start winning
Baby in Show at the National. We will be keeping up to date with Buster’s show exploits via the Show Team Page.

2008 Cocker National Report
The 2008 Cocker National Show was held this year in Adelaide in South Australia. Judged by Joanna Darby of Classicway Kennels (UK), it was a wild and wintery weekend but nevertheless a good time was had by all. Gabe and Rachel flew over with 7 dogs and had a fantastically successful weekend.

“The Yunbeai National Team L. to R. Cash, Lulu, Misty, Buster,
Lily with Piper at rear. Dinah is missing as she flew home on an earlier
flight!”
Yunbeai Man Oh Man (Buster) was the winner in the very first class of the show, a very large AOC Baby Dog Class. A terrific start for us.

Piper (Ch. Yunbeai Im In Style) was 5th in AOC Junior Dog despite being out of coat and having decided that the day before a big trip is obviously exactly the right time to chew off your ear fringing!
